# Extract Tables

> Extract tables from your documents

## Overview

Using `AnyParser`, you can extract tables from your documents

## Setup

Refer to the [Quickstart guide](/quickstart/#setup) to install the AnyParser SDK and get your api key.

First, set up your `AnyParser` client.

```python anyparser_pii.py theme={null}
from any_parser import AnyParser

ap = AnyParser(api_key="...")
```

Then, use the `anyparser_pii` method, passing in the following:

* `file_path` (str): the path to the local file

```python anyparser_extract_tables.py theme={null}
table_result, total_time = ap.extract_tables(local_file_path)
```

This will return two things:

* `table_result` (str): Tables represented in HTML format
* `total_time` (str): the time elapsed in seconds

### Full Code

```python anyparser_extract_tables.py theme={null}
from any_parser import AnyParser

ap = AnyParser(api_key="...")

table_result, total_time = ap.extract_tables(file_path="/path/to/your/file")
```

## Output

A string containing all the tables in HTML format.
